I've decided that I am going to dress in sweet Lolita for the next convention, yay!
Downside to this is... The convention is in a months time which means I'm going to have to get a dress, shoes, wig, socks, hair bow, bag and make-up before then!!! ((*~*))
If you don't know what "sweet lolita" is then I reccomend watching this video, if you do know what it is then watch it anyway because it's cute!
I'm getting my dress, shoes, socks and hair bow off a website called Bodyline and they're known for their good quality Lolita items, but at a decent price! I am also getting my wig off wig-supplier! I'm not sure where to get a petticoat yet, as Bodyline don't do them, and I need a little shirt to go under my dress.
So far my total amount needed for these items is a little over £100... Ooops! This doesn't include the petticoat and shirt?! So I'm going to work extra shifts to get these, committed..!
I've always wanted to wear Lolita clothing I've just never really got the chance so now I finally do I'm really excited... I just wonder if I can pull it off?
Ah, today was probably one of the best days ever!
I went to Telford Anime Expo for the first time today (shameful that it's my first time, I know) but I've always been busy, sigh. It was amazing.
As stupid as it sounds what made it so amazing was seeing how many people turned out, and I know how dumb this sounds, but I felt like less of a... Weirdo? I know this sounds harsh but I'm always being made fun of by my friends for watching anime and stuff but just seeing how many people in my area alone watch it was so cool! Everyone was super friendly and nice, and I kept getting hugs off random people... Good thing? Haha! I also had a lot of people asking to take photos of me and my friends, which was awesome.
I didn't manage to get loads of photos because I was too distracted by all the amazing stuff ((*3*)) But I got a few!
The day finally arrived... Telford Anime Expo 2013!
I decided to do a post on my outfit and the actual event separate otherwise it would be too long... If you've recently read my blog you'll know that I was planning to cosplay as Miyuki Takara from Lucky Star if you have no clue, click HERE
Today was actually the first time I'd tried on the wig with the outfit so I was a bit apprehensive to see what it looked like, but despite this I actually loved it!
Sorry about the inconsistent quality of the photo, I used my mom's phone for one and my friend's phone for the other, haha.
I thought I actually looked pretty good baring in mind the short time I had to figure it all out! The costume was a bit too big for me so it hung quite baggy off me which was a shame but I loved it regardless. I was also pleased with how well my wig held up, it didn't itch and it stayed on my head well.
One thing that didn't work out very well was the glasses... Sigh! The only ones I could find in time were rectangular whilst hers are circular and they were actually too small for my face!! Haha, ooops. In addition to these I just wore some black tights and my normal school shoes, which saved me some money.
I don't actually think these photos do it any justice it looked pretty good, if I do say so myself... Haha!
Hi guys!
I'm really sorry about the recent lack in posts, I've been really busy over this past week with exam revision and coursework. As of this Saturday I'm off school for a week for half term so I promise to return to my daily posting! Hang tight!
So my wig arrived for my Miyuki Takara cosplay today from www.wig-supplier.com... Yay!
I am so impressed with it, no words can explain. It's exactly like it is on the website image, which is always brilliant. The colour is perfect and the length is just right, although I didn't expect it to be as curly, but the curls have softened so they're not as tight any more.
I bought the Megurine Ruka Long Pink wig which is measured on the website as 105-110cm. I fell in love with it when I saw it and after looking at the price I had to have it. At £12 this was a too good to be true! So I did some research on the site, to see if it was reliable and after reading good review after good review I snapped it up.
My life pretty much revolves around films, I will watch anything and everything. I am a film guru! I would do a "top 10" but that will take me forever, so here is my top 5!
#1: THE AVENGERS.
This is my favourite film ever, literally it doesn't compare to anything. I can watch this film over and over and it still gives me goosebumps. All the fight scenes get me, they're so good! I love Marvel films anyway, they're so perfect! The combination of the actors in The Avengers is amazing, they suit the parts so amazingly well. I also like the fact that this film often refers back to the solo films of each character eg Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk and Thor. Although this can be a bit of a draw-back if you have never watched any of these films before because of some of the comments made and the references to their back stories. However Black Widow and Hawkeye don't have their own solo movies, yet. But there is rumours that Marvel are planning movies for both these characters.
#2: LORD OF THE RINGS.
I am a massive fan of Tolkien's Lord of The Rings, although admittedly I haven't been able to muster up the strength to read the books because they are massive. All these films are breathtaking, and if I'm really honest Lord of The Rings and The Avengers are practically drawing in my favourite movie(s) of all time.
If I had to pick I'd say that The Fellowship of the Ring is my favourite film out of the three. It's mostly because of the fact that it's the introduction to all the characters and settings, and despite the fact that there is no major, major fight scenes in this movie it's still awesome. I think this was the movie when I fell in love with Legolas because, well, he is perfect... Enough said.
Although these films are super long and slightly confusing at times they're a must watch!
#3: STUDIO GHIBLI AND HAYAO MIYAZAKI.
Any film by Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki I consider to be pronominal. Some people are put off these films because of the fact they're animated, not me of course, but they're amazing in their own right. These films make me genuinely happy, no word of a lie. I think the first film I ever watched by these guys was Princess Mononoke when I was about 8/9 years old and it blew me away. After this I really got into their films, my favourites being Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and My Neighbour Totoro. I mean, literally, I watch Howl's Moving Castle about 5 times a week, it's a little bit worrying... I know. But the story lines never cease to amaze me, I can't physically understand how they can think of such weird plots but what's even more amazing is the fact that they all make perfect sense and flow effortlessly!
If you're into your anime then you will know these guys and if you don't - you're not a true animation fan!
#4: STEP BROTHERS.
Oh my god, no words can explain how much I love this film. It's hilarious and one of a kind. I can quote this film, word for word I watch it that often. It's one of those movies where no matter how many times you watch it, it's still funny. I mean, if you haven't seen this film then I don't want to know what century you've been living in! It's hilarious. If you love comedy films this is one of the best films you'll find. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are brilliant. They are so perfect for the roles because they just fit into them so well, and it becomes so believable. I love it so much!!
#5: WANTED.
Now, I will admit when I first started watching this film I was like "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" because from the very start it's super confusing and irritating and to be honest, it's awful at the start but wow, am I glad I watched it till the end. It turned out to be an amazing film and it blew-my-mind! I love assassin movies anyway but this is in a whole new league. It has an amazing (granted, slightly confusing) plot but it all ties together at the end and has a major plot twist, which is always a bonus. I've only seen it a few times, no where near as many times as most of my favourite films but it's already up in my top 5... Yeah it's that good. The fact that it's got Angelina Jolie in is a massive bonus as well, because she is b-r-i-l-l-i-a-n-t!
This film is really not very popular and quite underrated but honestly if you haven't seen it already, you need to watch is ASAP!
So as you guys know if you've been reading my blog is that I am going to an anime convention in two weeks time in Telford. I decided that I was going to cosplay as Miyuki Takara from Lucky Star!
So today my costume arrived from Tokyo Toys, I am really pleased as I ordered it on Sunday and it has only taken 2 days to arrive! The store is UK based so shipping only cost £3 so that totalled my order to £43 which, to be honest, is pretty moderate for a cosplay outfit.
It came with the skirt, shirt and tie. Although the skirt is really good quality material, and it also came with a petticoat which has made it poofier (aka cuter) but the shirt is really thin material, so much so that you can see my underwear, so I will have to wear a white top underneath which I'm not that bothered about. Aside from this one thing the outfit is really good quality and just as they advertise on the website.
